About Me

Shelia D. Williamson is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Clinical Supervisor Intern, and Certified Anger Management Specialist-II specializing in individual, couples and family therapy utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person Centered Supervision, and maintains a private practice in Rockingham, NC. Shelia is fully licensed in the states of North Carolina and Illinois. Supervision and online therapy sessions can be administered for residents of North Carolina and Illinois. Please contact me for further information.

With over 11 years experience as a licensed professional counselor, and as a graduate of Chicago State University specializing in Community Counseling, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are crisis counseling, anger management, anxiety/depression/mood disorders, hypnotherapy, grief, and substance use disorders.

In addition to being a prominent mental health therapist, Shelia has presented at Statewide conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of the conceptions of teen pregnancies among low socioeconomic teenaged African Americans in urban communities.

Shelia is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
